I have recently donated two paintings, along with other generous Blue Door Artists, for a silent auction benefiting the YMCA’s annual “Share the Y” campaign. The campaign raises funds for kids to participate in the Y activities that they otherwise could not afford, as well as scholarship assistance to Nassau County residents. Last year, through the “Share the Y” campaign and the generosity of our members and neighbors, the McArthur Family YMCA gave away more than $273,000 in scholarship assistance to Nassau County residents. As our community needs grow, the YMCA recognizes the call to compassion and active outreach to Nassau County residents will grow as well. It is the underlying philosophy of the YMCA to never turn anyone away for the inability to pay.
Proceeds from the silent auction will help grow the scholarship assistance fund.
The silent auctions items will be on display in the McArthur Family YMCA lobby from September 1st through September 15th (the artwork has already been on display for a week) for people in the community to be able to bid. If you are local, you should go check out the items up for auction. If not, and you have always wanted to own a painting by me (possibly at a great price), feel free to contact me for a larger photo, or general information – or contact Karina Grego, Wellness Director at the YMCA (904)261.1080 or email her: kgrego [at] FirstCoastYMCA.org to actually place a bid.
Thanks and good luck!
