I had two paintings selected for the 31st small works exhibition at the NYU galleries at Washington Square East! Yea! Even upon entering, I knew I would not be able to go to the reception because I will be at another art show in Mt.Dora, FL the same weekend – but I entered anyway.
I just wanted to share my joy.
There are thousands of artists that apply for this show and they only select around 300-400, so I am very honored to be apart of it, with not only one painting but two!
But anyway, the artist reception is Saturday, February 2nd from 12-4 p.m and runs through March 14th. This the first time I have ever applied and/or done anything in NYC art wise so I am thrilled.
See what I can do if I bother to get off my butt!

JURIED BY RICHARD WITTER
80 Washington Square East Galleries is pleased to announce the 31st Small Works exhibition on view from February 2 to March 14, 2008. An opening reception will be held for all the artists on Saturday, February 2nd, from twelve to four p.m. The public is invited and all are welcome.
For over three decades our Small Works show has provided a visual forum for both established and undiscovered artists working in small format. This juried exhibit includes artworks in every medium imaginable, and offers an opportunity to see together in one place in New York City hundreds of artworks selected from thousands of local and international entries. This year’s Small Works was judged by Richard Witter of OK Harris Works of Art in New York. The unique concept of the competition dictates that all works submitted for possible exhibition measure twelve inches or less in every dimension. Throughout the years, tens of thousands of artists contributing from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and our own hemisphere, have challenged this size restriction with innovative and exciting creations. Although often imitated, the diversity and consistent quality of artworks exhibited in Small Works is rarely matched.
Gallery Viewing Hours: Tuesday 10-7, Wednesday & Thursday 10-6
